Hi — I'm Max, a twentysomething software engineer living in Munich.
I'm currently working as a member of the Rust 🦀 language team at Google. My technical interests include programming language design, compilers, operating systems, and functional programming.
In addition to writing code, I enjoy playing guitar, taking photos, and learning Japanese.

- Frog — An experimental functional language and compiler built around the Functional Machine Calculus.
- Rustyboy — A Game Boy emulator implemented in Rust that runs in the browser, command-line terminal, and on desktop platforms.

- Software Engineer — Working on improving support for Rust across Google.
- Software Engineer Intern — Built a system to measure resource savings achieved by the request deduplication feature of a widely-used RPC client library.
- Student Training in Engineering Program (STEP) — Built an application in Go to monitor failure domains within interconnected TPU-based systems.
- Shuttle, Software Engineer (Part-Time) — Worked alongside founders to build a Rust-first platform-as-a-service offering.
